AI Engineer

NZQRI (New Zealand Quantitative Research and Innovation) is seeking a motivated and creative AI Engineer Intern to join our research and innovation team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on real-world projects in artificial intelligence, data analytics, and machine learning applications.
You will collaborate with researchers and engineers to design, develop, and test AI-driven systems and prototypes that support NZQRI’s mission to advance intelligent technologies for science and industry.

This position is ideal for final-year students or recent graduates who are passionate about AI and eager to gain practical experience in a professional research environment.

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field.
Familiarity with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
Understanding of machine learning fundamentals, neural networks, and data processing.
Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Eagerness to learn, experiment, and contribute to innovative research.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
